Welcome

My name is Jim Linch and I am an avid shooter and enjoy “Gun Games” such as IDPA (EXP in SSP), IPSC (B-Class in LIM10), 3-Gun/Multi-Gun, and Long Range Rifle.  I currently call the Rogue Valley (Medford) area of the state of Oregon “home.”

In 1998 I gave my heart to Jesus Christ and made a decision to serve Him to the best of my ability.  I consider it a calling to be prepared as a Christian Warrior to defend those around me and to teach others to do the same.  My church for the past 4 years has been Harvest Baptist Temple in Medford.  I’m the webmaster there and host a few other sites as a hobbie.

Me and Gracie

  • I served proudly in the USMC (1984-1988) as an 0331 Machine-gunner.  My last unit was “Kilo 3/5” at Camp Margarita, Camp Pendleton.
  • After the Corps. I went to work at Barrick Goldstrike Mines in Elko, NV. in 1988 and in 1990 became an Industrial Electrician, which is what I’ve done for the past 19 years.
  • Moved back to Oregon in 1995 and started shooting IPSC in 2003, these days I stick to IDPA and Multi-Gun.
  • Served as a Reserve Sheriff’s Deputy with Jackson County for a short stint (2003-2005) to see if I wanted to change careers, but decided to stay a “Sparky.”
  • Got married to the love of my life on July 08, 2007 and we now have 3 cats and 2 dogs.  We plan to move to the Oregon Coast or Eastern Oregon one of these days.

Here you will find my interests in several areas and some resources pointing to other sites I frequent.

If you are interested in learning how to use a handgun for the protection of yourself and those you love, I am an NRA Instructor listed with Jackson County for Oregon CHL instruction and can get you started on the road to competence. You can read more about my qualifications and the course I offer on the Oregon CHL Classes page.

My CHL class covers all the pertinent legal issues of concealed carry but unlike many “video classes” in Oregon I will teach you to shoot the gun you have chosen to carry. I require all students to pass a 50 round marksmanship test using their carry gear and CCW.

As you look around the website I hope you find the information here helpful.  Please feel free to drop me an email with questions or comments on anything you find confusing or disagree with.  While I sometimes teach, I’m always a student and like to hear sound reasoning for tactics other people employ different from my own.

EVERYTHING THERE IS TO KNOW ABOUT GUN CONTROL IN 99 WORDS!

by G. Edward Griffin

Gun-control laws do not control crime because crimes are not committed by guns; they are committed by criminals. Criminals will always have guns because they do not obey laws, including anti-gun laws. Those without guns are easy prey for criminals with guns. Gun control encourages crime. The right to bear arms was included in the Bill of Rights, not to deter crime, but to deter oppressive government. Just governments honor and protect the right to bear arms. Oppressive governments fear and prohibit the right to bear arms. Guns are dangerous. The only thing more dangerous is not having them.
